Join us for an exclusive experience that includes a hands-on native craft, a culinary tasting, and guided tour of Saxman Native Village. You will get to learn about Tlingit formline drawing from a local artist and design your own native ornament. Select from a raven, eagle, or salmon template and paint them using authentic colors.
Treat your taste buds to a wild ride through Alaskan flavors that are anything but ordinary! Dive into a beverage experience with craft beer, fancy wine, or quirky craft soda. Savor the magic of locally sourced goodness as you munch on reindeer sausage, kelp pickles, smoked salmon dip, and other tasty treasures, all crafted with unique flair.
These components are complemented by a cultural showcase of Alaska Native art, clothing, and tools. Some of these artifacts include traditional hand-carved pieces by Master Carver, Nathan Jackson, along with other items coming from the original Village of Cape Fox. Your local tour host will teach the Tlingit customs, traditions, and stories of the Elders as they guide you through the exhibits and totem park. The highlight of the showcase will be watching the Cape Fox dancers perform a playlist of Tlingit songs and dances in the Beaver Clan House.
Enjoy a four-hour guided sightseeing tour of Ketchikan in a medium height transit van. The driver guide will pick you up from any of the cruise ship terminals, hotels, airport, or other location selected by the guest. You can select four to five destinations or activities for your private tour. This is a four-hour guided tour, but you have the option to add additional hour(s) with an additional fee. Immerse yourself in living history by visiting Saxman Native Village for a look at the rich native culture of Southeast Alaska combined with the action-packed head-to-head lumberjack competition. At the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, you will celebrate a bygone era as you see the logging history come to life with thrilling displays of strength and agility.
Upon arrival at Saxman Native Village, a tour host will welcome you in the Tlingit dialect and direct you into the Beaver Clan House. Find a seat and prepare yourself for an elaborate display of traditional songs and dances performed by the Cape Fox Dancers. Through banging drums, infused aromas, lighting, native props, and regalia the songs will portray the stories about the fierce warrior men and women of the village. After the performance, your tour host will guide you through the canoe canopy for a background of canoe making and fishing along with the Carving Center for an up-close look at totem pole carving and paint making. The totem pole park is the last area to explore which includes detailed descriptions about the figures carved and cultural significance about each pole.

Begin your tour with an action-packed performance at the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show where these world champion athletes wearing spiked boots and hard hats, compete in 12 athletic events that utilize seven-pound axes, six-foot razor-sharp saws, tree climbing gaffs, and souped-up chainsaws.
Join us in Saxman Native Village for a culinary experience to learn all about Alaskan ingredients and their uses in a modern cooking environment. The culinary tasting will offer a unique setting to enhance your culinary knowledge and expand your palate with true Alaskan ingredients. The culinary experience is complemented by a cultural showcase of Alaska Native art, featuring a variety of priceless and historical pieces from the Cape Fox Corporation Native Art Collection.
